-Self Care / Self Awareness
(“Leading a Healthy Lifestyle” presentation)
The adoption and maintenance of healthy lifestyle habits is essential to our children’s development, health and success in school. mind and body. Our prophet (pbuh) and imams”as” constantly preached the message of health , since healthy bodies carry healthy souls . By following Islamic teachings and guidelines for healthy eating, being active, doing physical exercise and maintaining psychological well being through faith and hope, one is already adopting good habits of mind and body.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle promotes concentration, which is a key factor in educational success, and creates a feeling of well-being.
Wednesday, December 21, 2022:
-Anti-Bullying Day
(A presentation + workshops)
Bullying is a form of aggression and oppression as it entails injustice being done towards an individual by another.
Islam explicitly forbids all forms of oppression and injustice.
Unfortunately, bullying is still an ongoing issue at schools and other places. That’s why educating kids about it and encouraging and fostering an anti-bullying environment/culture is essential.
Tips for students:
- Bullying can be prevented before it starts. Understand what bullying behaviours are such as name-calling, unwelcome teasing or taunting, and then help others understand these are unacceptable behaviours.
- Recognize you have the right to be treated with respect and feel safe in your school and community. If this is not happening, talk to someone.
- Refuse to go along with bullying or harassment – youth who laugh or cheer only encourage the behaviour.
- Gather your friends to help speak out against bullying and harassment.
- Watch out for those being bullied, and tell a teacher or trusted adult if you see bullying happening.
Thursday, December 22, 2022:
-Sports Day
(A presentation focusing on championship sports and games/team building/positive interaction/respect/communication).
Children should take part in sports because it is essential for their fitness, health and positive overall development. When children participate in sporting activities, it has a positive impact on their overall growth. Moreover, playing team sports has many added benefits.
