Today was definitely a day to remember alhamdullilah! Al Haadi Academy organized a field trip to the Science Centre. The whole school split up into different groups (by grade), roamed around and explored all sorts of different exhibits.
The kindergartens (JK and SK) attended an on-site school program called “Science Investigators.” Who stole the poison dart frogs from the rainforest? Our little ones applied the scientific method to investigate! Students identified shoe prints, discovered hidden markings with an ultraviolet light and compared fingerprints. They worked with their team to gather information, sort data and communicate results to solve the mystery.
Grades 1 to 8 watched an Imax film called “Dinosaurs of Antarctica.” The Al Haadi Academy students joined scientists on a quest to unearth a prehistoric world now lost to ice on the southernmost continent of Antarctica. They discovered a colossal amphibian that lurks below the surface of an ancient river, learned about the largest-known early Jurassic carnivore and came face-to-face with other fearsome dinosaurs and fascinating creatures that inhabited a lush landscape; one that looks nothing like the frozen desert we know today.
It was a definitely a fun-filled and educational day!
