As a school that it is committed to Islamic education and keeping our Islamic beliefs and heritage strong, we wanted to mark this occasion in a truly meaningful way. Most importantly, we wanted to ensure that our students walked away with an understanding of the uprising of Imam Hussein (as), his significance, and the many lessons that came out of Karbala.
On the Arbaeen, students participated in an outdoor school procession whereby they carried flags and posters they had designed and that were inspired by the events of Ashura.
Other activities included the recitation of nasheeds, watching an animation about the Arbaeen
Pilgrimage (walk), and listening to a small lecture about Imam Hussein (as), Karbala and the Arbaeen. Sister Beenish also spoke to the students about the benefits and meanings of Ziyarat Imam Hussein (as), especially on the Arbaeen. Our program ended with ziyarat and a solemn pause for reflection.
We thank Academy staff for organizing this day, and our students for partaking in the events of the day. May Allah (swt) bless us all with the opportunity to visit the Imam (as) and the ability to always keep him in our hearts and minds.
