Academy students commemorated the second annual National Truth and Reconciliation Day and Orange Shirt Day.

On this day, Academy students engaged in lessons and activities whereby they learned about the dark history of Canada’s Residential School system, which over 150,000 Indigenous Children were forced to attend. At these schools, Indigenous Children were stripped of their culture and forced to assimilate, which has broken and negatively impacted generations of Indigenous people.

As educators, we’re committed to building socially-conscious Muslims who stand up for the oppressed, and that means coming to terms with the plight of Indigenous people in the past and the present.

Every Child Matters! 🧡

On behalf of the Al Haadi Academy Team, we would like to extend our heartiest and warmest wishes on the greatest day in the history of the world: the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).

All week long, we’ve been celebrating and giving thanks to the Almighty for having bestowed upon humanity the “Mercy unto the entire creation”.

This joyous occasion coincides with the birthday of our beloved Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq (as).

May Allah (swt) bless you all and your families and keep you firm on the path of the light of guidance Mohammad (pbuh) and his household (as).

Milad Mubarak!
